Former Ambassador Nancy Soderberg
Nancy Soderberg has been active in national Democratic politics since the early 1980s, serving in a variety of capacities in national presidential campaigns since 1984, working as the Senior Foreign Policy Advisor to Senator Edward M. Kennedy.
From 1993-97, Ms. Soderberg served as the third ranking official of the National Security Council at the Clinton White House and as Deputy Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs.
From 1997 to 2001, Ms. Soderberg served as Alternate Representative to the United Nations as a Presidential Appointee. She represented the United States in negotiations at the Security Council, participated in missions to key conflict areas and promoted U.S. national security policy at the United Nations and with the leadership of other nations.
In April 2001, Ms. Soderberg joined the New York office of the International Crisis Group as Vice President. She currently teaches at the University of North Florida as a Distinguished Visiting Scholar.
Ms. Soderberg publishes and speaks regularly on national security policy. Her most recent book is The Prosperity Agenda. She is a regular commentator on national and international television and radio, including NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, BBC, NPR and the Lehrer News Hour.
